I recently attended my first conference for RWA!  It was the most awesome experience I've had so far as a writer...well, next to getting published.  Imagine 2000 people who actually "get" you!  2000 people you can talk to about edits, cover art, and writer's block, and their eyes DON'T glaze over!  It was amazing.  We got to meet many famous authors, and lots of not-so-famous people who were absolutely wonderful. If you get the opportunity to attend , don't hesitate!  It's incredible.  Here are a few pictures...

This is me, with one of my critique partners, Christine, all dressed up for the gala!

These are the other Cobblestone authors who were present - from left to right, Eden Bradley, Shelli Stevens, Crystal Jordan, and me!

Another picture of the Cobblestone gals - Crystal Jordan, Shelli Stevens, Lori Hunt, and me!

Two Cobblestone girls - Shelli Stevens and Emma Petersen.

Fellow Strictly Sirens authors (and sisters) Stella and Audra Price.

The attending Romance Divas (www.romancedivas.com) I'll get all their names eventually.  A fantastic group of ladies.

Linda Howard and me.  She was incredibly nice!  She'd run out of books to sign, but she was still willing to visit for quite a while.

This is Jennifer Crusie - that's Bob Mayer beside her.  They were signing a book for my crit partner, Erica, who couldn't attend.  Really funny, those two.

And, of course, you can't go to an RWA conference and NOT meet the QUEEN, Nora Roberts.  Whether you like her books or not, you have to admit the woman has done amazing things for the genre as a whole.  A very classy lady.  This pic is Christine, Nora, and me.

Last, but by NO means least, this is my darling DH.  On Thursday of the conference, he called me and told me I had a surprise at the concierge desk.  I thought he'd sent flowers - but instead, he'd BROUGHT them personally - and met me downstairs with a big bouquet of roses.  Any wonder why I do what I do?

PS - Ain't he CUTE?
